    I don't think that tax hikes would create jobs. But I don't see how taxing the wealthy more heavily is a bad thing. I'm not an economist by any means, but where the gap between the wealthy and the middle class is continually expanding, I'm not seeing the "trickle down" effect really working.

    Maybe when you're covered by unemployment insurance and have family to fall back on so you don't have to worry about being homeless. Many on the lowest level of employment don't have the luxury of walking away from bullying employers and pitiful conditions, they or their dependants would starve.
