I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 with a 360 cid engine. it has some bad valve knocking when i use low octain gas. if I put octain booster in it the knocking goes away. What can I do to fix this?

Differences Mazda 3 (2004) : ~104000 KM, Fully Equipped Pontiac Grand AM (2006) : ~46000 KM, No long distance start up Both cars ride great, both the same price. Which one should I go for?
