The handbrake on my Mk 2 Mondeo snapped as I was applying it last weekend. It's booked in for repair this Friday. The problem is since that happened a noise, like whirring, has appeared when I am driving. Could the two things (broken handbrake cable and noise) be connected?
Even after a 24 mile journey to work lots of smoke still comes from the exhaust. I also notice that the car heater becomes cool after a while. Is this connected?
When I brake there is a strong vibration at the front which slows down as the car slows down and steering becomes a bit erratic. In July I got new discs and yesterday I got front wishbones and anti-roll bar bushes fitted and the tyres balanced. But the vibration persists. Any ideas?
