My sister just bought a used car in May. Just found out brake pads and rotors are gone. Is the dealer, under law, required to replace them being that he sold the car to her (she's single and had no man with her when she made the purchase) with these things already worn out.

I like Joanne's answer. I actually added this question because I think most people these days could improve their etiquette. Here is one way I heard to do the above: draw more and more people into your conversational circle until you can slip away unnoticed. Very slick IMHO.
