So I"m 16 years old and I got my mom's 1996 Jeep Cherokee. I've noticed for about a month now, tht everytime I walk by, I get a swiff of gas. My dad told me what it was but I can't remember. It's not the fuel pump and but he said something line? Can anyone help me remember what it is? Please!

I have an exercise bike and I usually use it for around 30-60 minutes a day. I do it at a medium pace not to fast but not particular slow either however the bikes monitor that tells me how long I have been doing it for how fast I'm going and the calories burnt ect... only says that I am burning...
