try downgrading itunes then. btw if you arent use redsn0w. i havent tried any other jailbreaks but i tried redsn0w and it worked within minutes.

My guess is that the clicking you're hearing is telling you that your compressor has died. Bummer. That's gonna be expensive. It could be something else, but that's my best guess given the limited information I've got. Good luck!
