I tried connecting my macbook pro to my sony bravia lcd tv via minidisplay to hdmi cable. My mac recognizes the tv, but the tv just says no signal. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

I was planning to get a new Motorola Droid off ebay and was wondering if it would work for Verizon. Im thinking it would because the original carrier of the phone is Verizon anyways, but I want to be sure before purchasing it. Also, I wouldnt have to buy the data package from Verizon in order...
