I purchased an 8gb ipod 2 weeks ago - to the day. Being a Zune girl for many years I finally broke down. Here is the thing - seems SLOW. Freezes up and a lot, lot on apps and moving around in it. I still have like 5.5gb available. I didn't buy it for a mp3 player - I only got it for the apps...
