Brand new, I'd get the GSX-R600, CBR600RR, R6, then the ZX6R in that order. I actually prefer 600cc to literbikes, they're more fun to ride. This is, of course, if you are riding street. For track purposes the R6 is pretty beastly just because of it's speed.

Depends on the brand. Go for a good private company (Skunk2, Weapon R, etc.) and you should be happy with it.
