    Why is the big dipper upside down?

    Have any of you on the west coast noticed that the big dipper is turned differently than it usually is? It's like upside down! I live in California and this has been puzzling me and my girlfriend for some time now.. since we first saw it. Looked it up and couldn't find anything. Any ideas...
