    Is it possible to tell a difference between L- and D- forms of di-saccharides when

    drawn in anomeric form? One of the problems on our assignment states: "Draw beta-D-galactose (anomeric form)" Or am I confused about what "anomeric form" is? Isn't it a hexagon-shaped drawing, designating the anomeric Carbon?
