The Rival is poorly built. I loved the phone and so did my mom which is who I bought it for, but it has way too many build problems. So, drop that phone from the running.

well how fast do the contacts load after the initial loading of them after a fresh restart? cause that initial lag is pretty normal for contacts with all the s60 phones i've owned, e71 included. it just loads it into temp memory after a restart, and then as long as you used the EXIT button...
Granted this phone is a beast...your locked down to one carrier (sprint).
Also, 4G is hella fast (10x faster then 3g)...thing is...can you catch a strong enough signal to keep the connection going?
Here where I live, 4G isn't even remotely close to being released...yet, the Sprint stores...
only when you are changing sites or typing in a text box, if i'm changing sites I'm not looking at the site i'm on anyhow, and if i'm typing in a text box i'm looking at what i'm typing, so it's really a non issue to me.

I'm guessing you hack the firmware and change the shutter noise value to something that the phone doesn't recognize. I remember doing it on a few phones.
For example, if you have selection for 1-3, you change the value to 4.
I'm all speculation though. Don't pay attention to my wack-job hacking.
