sounds like a bad light switch. The best way to fix any ford is to take the fuel cap off and pull a new car under it and put it back on. lol.

The best thing I have found for this is using the old o-ring. If it isn't destroyed just use the old one. the replacement ones are normally to big to fit and you can spend all day cussing at it and still not get it in.

Im not familiar with the dodge truck fuel system but in most cases it is the fuel level sending unit/rheostat in the tank itself. Normally the sending unit is part of the in tank fuel pump but, like I said I dont know that fuel system to well.
