My kitten is 7months old and used to eat normalily, now she doesn't eat much of her food (dry or wet) but she acts normal. Why is this?

I have a crested gecko. I only give him live food once a week and that seems to be a good schedule for him. I am considering keeping live food for a little bit, but he can only eat small crickets. If I buy more than I need how long will the others live if I keep them in a container with some food?
