It is definitely a poem...no one can say what is and what isn't, it is up to the writer to decide: poetry or prose. And it is good, you have a good, controlled use of rhyme. I like the idea of looking "beyond the mirror" it suggests looking past face values. Very good.
I am currently working towards my arts award gold, and for my challenge have written a collection of poems that rhyme on the theme of death. This is the first and is called 'The Girl Who Slew The World'.
