Don't worry about it as such. It may be a virtue of the multitasking. One thing to do: check to make sure recently exited apps are actually closed. Android doesn't really tell you when an app has shut "for good" versus just hiding in the background.

I am able to use the Manage Services for XMPP now, but when I log in on my phone after registering the gtalk service, it shows I have 0/0 contacts. I should have about 15 for the account I am setting up. Username on mobjab = panthar.
