I just placed an order for the E71 though buy.com. The order went through and payment was processed through paypal. Now when I check the status on buy.com it shows the order as canceled.

I'm not holding anyone against their opinion...I specifically said some will like it. But I don't think Nokia would put out a proto units since people try before they buy. To put out a none finished unit for people to try and buy is probably not very smart.
