Every since campaigning for the last midterms the republicans have threatened a shutdown. People want things done in Washington. Can't do that with one side shutting down the government.

Wrong on so many levels. Obama doesn't own GM. The American tax payer owns a sizable portion of it. You just described Communism not Socialism. Try using that socialist library every now and again.
