I remember back before there was liquid dish soap. We used to use powdered soap all of the time to wash dishes. You have to rinse well. But since they have better things now, I wouldn't do it all of the time, anymore. Plus I never buy powder anymore. The liquid does a better job.

Impatients are a tender plant. You might try flushing them with plain water and save them.
