Be specific please, for I have missed the basics of pre-cal and calculus because of moving from school to school (change of addresses).

I thought I had gotten the hang of it with the unit circle using the special right triangles. But now I'm stuck because how can a hypotenuse or leg measure 0? I may sound dumb, but I missed the basics of precal and calculus because of moving from school to school.
