does it only produce carbon monoxide when there is no air at all or can natural gas still make the carbon monoxide in a normal environment ?

does anyone else have the same problem? i HATE when anyone knocks on my door i HATE it!!! i can not stand it!!! it is fine when i arrange for people to come over but when people knock on my door i get a huge panic attack...... do you like it or hate it when someone appears at your front...
