    extend the underline of a heading in html?

    I want to underline my heading so I use <h1><u>heading</u></h1> but how do i get the underline to extend out past the text, like the full length of the page?? p.s. I dont want to use a horizontal line instead as this leaves too much space between the line and the heading... thanks

    heading underline in css/html?

    when I add a horizontal line in html the gap between it and my text below it is too much, i dont know how to fix this, i just want to move the text closer to the line, any help?? thanks
