    What would be a good martial art for a girl who wants to protect herself?

    I am 15 years old and I live in a tough neighborood. My parents think that it would be a good thing for me to learn how to defend myself. What is the martial art that would be perfect for a slim 5'9 girl? Are there other girls with martial arts training who could tell me?
