Why do people who believe in things without evidence rewarded in Christmas movies while those who doubt until evidence is presented portrayed as Grinches?

A majority of Christians have no problem with what science tells us about the universe. It is only those that cling to an ultra-literal interpretation that deny that evolution happened and that the earth is billions of years old.
