My Verizon one dosent cover our basement, although I do have a Ethernet jack in our basement to set up another one. would it work, how do I set it up?

This is all I need answered. A new one, rebuilt? or more cheaper, used? How much? Thank you Bubba B, for your time and help, but do you know how much a used one would cost, if you could even get one used? Sorry not good with trucks.
