    What's the best way to transport a hamster via car?

    I'm going a long ways a way (days of driving). I've never taken a pet with me. How should I transport him in the car? P.S. I don't want someone in my house while I'm gone. I don't know anyone that isn't afraid of rodents, so they can't clean his cage or hold him. I must take him with me...
