Hi everyone, I am a Canadian applying to universities in the US, but don't know if I should apply for financial aid, since some colleges are need-aware and some are need-blind . Am I allowed to apply for $ aid at the need-blinds and not apply for the need-awares?

On the common app, for the check box "do you intend to apply for financial aid", what does "financial aid" indicate- loans, payment plans, or grants?
