I heard if you cancel and keep thier modem it takes 30days. if not its around 1 week. Can anyone confirm this?

Im thinking to switching to teksavvy cause im always over bandwidth limit and gotta pay like 40$ a month. I hear if you keep rogers modem it takes 30 days if not its right away?

I just got it, and i was wondering is turning off same as standby? If not how. Also i went in the accesories>audio to test mic, first there was an echo, then it sounded really nice, then it sounded a bit fuzzy ( seperate tries) how do i fix this?
