It has to be C510a, regular C510 will not work. C510a has the 3G bands 850mhz & 1900mhz C510 only has the 3G band 2100mhz ONLY C510a WILL WORK ON BELL's HSPA

Their both equal... Your choice basically narrows down to phone selection. Here is another thing for fido, they are GSM. SO you can use unlocked GSM phones from ebay or any phone that's foreign. Virgin phones will always stay on the Virgin Network, like any other phones won't work.

The phone was probably patched unlock, since you did master reset... the unlock patch got wiped therefore it's locked again. Was it orignally from Rogers? At&t? probably locked to those networks now. You have to take it to a shop or run tutorials on how to unlock it. I'm not an iphone user...

No, it's not a slide out keyboard... It's a detatchable, so basically it's a regular bar touch phone... Then you can attatch the keyboard for texting. I think you should pick something with a Sim-Card, you kno their new HSPA 3G network. You will have faster internet and better call quality...
