Why is it that any neighborhood that has a large gay community in any city is the one that seems to be the most safe and hip with all the good restaurants? Is it wrong or discrimination to try to attract gay couples to your neighborhood?

Since NBA teams are 90% black but the population is only 13% black, isn't this evidence of racism? Should we make a test that doesn't put the best basketball players on the court but one that makes the most diverse teams (this is a play on the recent Fireman case in New Haven by the way)?
