    Cost of Honda Civic Muffler Replacement?

    My 98 Honda Civic needs a new muffler & tailpipe. My local shop wants to charge $350 (they usually bring it in for less, maybe $300) and say they'd be installing after-market parts. This seems expensive to me. Any thoughts from mechanically knowledgeable people?
