    In Fahrenheit 451 Beatty says, "You must understand that our civilization is so vast

    it's okay to be stirred. Especially against their will. Put them in one of those big ol' dough mixers, the kind with the giant metal paddles and turn it on. It starts turning and stirs up anybody trapped in the mixing bowl. Pretty soon, it's just a bowl of glop.
