    Help with sqrt(x+96)=x+6, find t?

    So I know that you square root both sides and it's x+96=x+6^2 x+96=x^2+12x+36 And then what?

    In a 35 inch square television set, the length of the screen's diagonal is 35...?

    Find the measure of the side of the screen. So, so far I know it's a^2+b^2=c^2 therefore it's 35^2+b^2=35^2 would b be 0? I'm confused.
