I'm not quite 18 yet, and there are tons of contests that I can't enter because of it. Is there a reason they do this? It just seems unfair that my age should be a factor in wether or not I'm eligible to enter. Is there a law or something that forces contests to have this rule? Please explain.

I'm kind of new to the whole DIY electronics things, and I wanted to try something as one of my first serious projects. It was a circuit with an LED that, when a switch is turned, blinks faster and faster, and after a certain amount of time, opens a relay to do something, than turns off. Any ideas?
