    5.56 rounds like the 77 gr and 5.56 open tip SOST used by some military personal including the USMC with a flash reducer type propellant. Do flash reducing propellants reduce noise as well or are they just as loud but with no muzzle flash?

    Question on military weapons?

    Which makes a louder report up close and at a distance? A military M4/M16/M249 in 5.56X45 or an AK-47 in 7.62X39? Assuming the 5.56x45 has a higher chamber pressure and muzzle velocity than the 7.62X39?
