I bought an unlocked iphone from ebay and put my sim card in. It's saying that i have no service in places where i usually have full bars. how do i get my phone to work?

I really like the enV touch or the enV 3. But, there's also ones like blackberrys and stuff if you're looking for just like a qwerty keyboard phone.
