Will having only a 2 barrel carb effect torque and hp dramatically or what are the deffects of having a 2 barrel?

I am putting a 440 in my 98 dodge 1500 and was wondering if i could put a ford 9" rear end in to support the torque of this engine or it there was a better match. Thanks for any feedback.
