It really depends on the state you live in and their specific rules when it comes to emissions testing.Alot of the older vehicles have a hard time passing emissions testing,and in some states,they come down hard on the older vehicles because they tend to pollute more.

If I were you i'd go to the local parts store and pick up a repair manual for your truck.It'll help you out alot.
