Can't I keep my old number which is also Vodafone. I didn't buy from shop, I ordered online. What do I have to do? I meant CAN I KEEP old number!

Nokia lumia 620 What does the H or the G or the 3G mean I'm not paying for roaming charges am I? If I want to search internet away from WiFi how do I do that? I understand their is a charge. I am a bit (very) dim when it comes to technology! Thankyou
