i have a 1988 chevy k1500 and i was wondering if i could take out the guages and put the 1992 guage set in it if that makes any sence another question is if i could change the color of the display of the guages if so how???

I have a 1988 chevy k1500 4x4. My A/C in the truck works but barely, when i turn it up it makes this wierd screaching noise. And while im driving i can feel it putting strain on the motor, like when i have my foot on the pedal it seems harder to push down. What do you think the problem is?
