I have a college degree already and graduated AF boot camp in march of this year and the Air Force will not let you get anything above an E-3 or A1C when you graduate from boot. Believe me I asked, it has to do with level rating. Like I'm a 3 level, so I'm an apprentice a E-4 or senior airman...
