I would like to have a clear, understandable answer that a ten year old would understand. I am having a lot of trouble with reproduction ratio, how it relates to close up photography and finally, how would a ratio of .13 be for close up. Please be nice and understand that I am very confused...

I don't think that many computers/scanners can scan over network.

You probably have done this but have you tried going to system preferences>displays and A) setting the maximum resolution and B) trying the button that says detect displays. Also, 10.6.4 came out today, you should run software update just in case.
