    Why do people say most lawyers are cold blooded liars and crooks?

    If I'm innocent and charged with a crime, that's the kind of lawyer I want: a cold blooded liar crook, not afraid to play dirty if that's what it takes to save my life. There are too many innocent people that end up in jail, so I wouldn't trust my life to a "miss/mister congeniality.'

    Is it necessary to hire a lawyer if you're innocent?

    Obviously you don't know about how many innocent people go to jail.... believe it of not innocent people are found guilty all the time. The lawyer is not there to "make you look better", he/she is there to make sure you get a fair trial and that all your rights are honored.
