    When cooking is unsweetened cocoa powder a thickening agent?

    No, when i used it in my cereal today it got extremely thick, wondering if it was the cereal and heat that did it and if the cocoa contributed. I added 1tbsp of cocoa powder and 1tbsp of sugar to my shredded wheat with warm milk, i became super thick but it tasted awesome
