Close or against the wall?

I'm looking to buy a 2003 Flareside Lariat 4x4, 5.4L. I know it's a bit old but it's mostly for yard work and local commuting. Do they ride nicely? I replacing a 98 G. Cherokee that rides really nice, but have never driven an F-150. I want to customize it a bit too.

I'd try 7, if it complains, put another 1 or 2 in.

For a new one? I'd say $5000 installed. A rebuilt or used one would be a lot less.
