I'm pretty good with 2D art (photoshop) and I thought I should advance to 3D graphics? Should I use Cinema 4D? I know you can use photoshop too for 3D things but I need a change of software I suppose.

I have seen some art work on deviantart saying "light painting" and using a camera and moving light source but I don't understand! Please explain how to do light painting in detail and use all those professional terms like "light exposure for more than 2 seconds" and stuff. Explain in DETAIL!
