I'm doing a chemistry experiment at school which reacts NaI(aq) + Pb(NO3)2 to form PbI2(s) + NaNO3 In the procedure, after i filter the resulting solution through filter paper I'm supposed to wash the precipitate in the filter funnel and allow it to drain. Why is ethanol used?
