    Check bulbs are not blown first then take out each fuse and check to see if blown.

    Car trouble: everything was OK, then when I hit 40 MPH, it would not go into gear.?

    Manual or auto trans?. Manual sound like clutch slips. Auto sound like there is a band or clutch problem in the box. Check to se if the oil smells burnt.
