I need help with my apple iBook G4 , it wont start up when i turn it on , it just stays on the gray screen , no icons , not even the spinning gear . just a blank gray screen . help please , any suggestion?

I have had a few problems with my phone then it broke. Used the warranty and even the new one is having problems. My fiance has the same one and the hinge just snapped on it the other day when he opened it. (Also happened to my first one). Does anyone else have issues as well?
