I can have a full tank of gas. When i turn the car on, the meter goes up to full, and soon after falls to empty and the light turns on. While im driving, it goes back up slowly, but the needle goes right back down. What is causing this?

...hard into 4th.? Also, when stopped, it kinda shakes like a car does sometimes when the AC is turned on, but the RPMs are not too low. And some days it will go completely bad and wont shift at all. What problems do i need to address?
